New Video: Mariah Carey - Underneath the Stars

Continuing to promote her old material, Mariah Carey is back with a new music video. Or perhaps it's more correct to say old music video? She recently released the music video for the song "Underneath the Stars" from the Daydream album.

2020 has been all about the past with Mariah Carey. She put out a memoir. She had the new album, The Rarities which collected some previously unreleased songs. And now, we have a music video for Underneath the Stars, the fifth single from the 1996 Daydream album.

The music video is a very low cost video. By and large, it is one of those compilation videos showing clips of Mariah Carey on the road and performing at a concert. There are some intermittent clips intermixed in the video of Mariah Carey singing Underneath the Stars while outside in a green space. It's a subdued video, but it is a cool chance to look back at old concert footage and to see Mariah Carey when she was so young again.

The song featured here is a nice subdued song. Mariah Carey sounds great as usual. It is weird to think that this was chosen to be a single, but I think that was more a comment on how heavy promotion was on her albums and how deep they dug to promote them. When this track was released, it actually didn't charge at all.
