John Legend performs on NPR Tiny Desk Concerts

NPR's tiny desk concert series is an awesome opportunity to watch big names in music perform stripped down shows. It's an intimate affair that could have been put on hold with the pandemic, but instead has continued on in top form. This week, John Legend performed a tiny desk concert.

The performance isn't in the NPR studio space, but instead, a living room. Despite the small setting, John Legend brought a full team to perform, holding nothing back in the concert. It felt like a follow-up performance to the Juneteenth show he did with Alicia Keys, only this time it was all live performances.

During the concert, he performed a great rendition of Ohh Laa, the lead song on his new album, Bigger Love. He followed it up with Wild and Conversations in the Dark (which was featured on the show This is Us). Conversations in the Dark is a chilling number and well worth a listen if you haven't heard it yet.

He closed the show with the title track, Bigger Love. The track is a fun song that is great for dancing. I feel like John is limited vocally, so a track like Bigger Love feels like him embracing a wilder style.

The Tiny Desk performance was part of John Legend's continued effort to promote Bigger Love. If you are still on the fence about the album, this is a great chance to see what it's all about. Watch the concert below and let us know what you think of Bigger Love!
