New Single: Brian McKnight - Stay On UR Mind

Promoting his new album Exodus, Brian McKnight has released a new visual video for Stay on UR Mind. Stay on UR Mind is the latest single for the album, following up on 42, When I'm Gone, and Neva Get Enuf of U.

The visual video for Stay on UR Mind is a bit... lazy feeling. When I think of these animated music videos, I think of something like India Arie's Roller Coaster which felt like the video was pulling you into the lyrics. The one featured for Stay on Your Mind is just a blurring water-like background. It feels like something anyone might put on the back of a song they were uploading the audio for. It's not really enough to make you watch the video.

The song itself is pretty, very much a profession of love. It doesn't have quite the build up to anything, but it's an effective, middle of the road song. Maybe I'm just in a grumpy mood today, but I'm also not a fan of these abbreviated words in song titles. Why not just say "your", why "UR". I get it for some songs that are trying to invoke a certain feeling, but this is a classy slow song, it doesn't need abbreviations.
