New album: Brian McKnight - Exodus

When it comes to consistency and volumes of work, there are few artists that can match Brian McKnight. Over the last 30 years, the man has released 16 studio albums. SIXTEEN. And we're not just talking low-effort cover albums (well okay, there are two Christmas albums in there), these are albums of original songs!
The man's a machine and every album has at least one or two songs that make you say "he's still got it!"
With the craziness of 2020, Brian McKnight is offering some sweet relief, putting out his sixteenth studio album. Titled Exodus, the album came out on June 26, 2020 and features 13 tracks including "Nobody", "Stay on UR Mind" and "Good Ol' Fashioned Love".
In interviews promoting the album, McKnight has said that Exodus will be his last album of all original material. Is this general promotion strategies to get people talking about the album? Has he gotten tired of recording, I mean, the man is 51 after all? Or is this some clever wordsmithing as "all original material" means we can have new albums with some cover songs or collections mixed in with new tracks? Who knows, but with 16 albums under his belt, Brian McKnight can say whatever he wants.
Interestingly, in 2018, Brian McKnight talked about working on a new album, which he was calling Bedtime Story, as a 60 minute album of baby-making music. Whether or not that eventually evolved into Exodus or was tabled is unclear.
