New Video: Brandy - Borderline

Brandy's B7 is here, and what better introduction to the new album than with the song Borderline. The video was released today, and has a chilling feel to it. With Brandy in a straitjacket in a padded cell, the track holds no punches back. We had alluded to the album's references to mental illness when looking at the track list and it seems Brandy is going all in with that imagery in this song.

I wasn't sold with Rather Be, but Borderline is much more what I would love to see. The track has a mellow beat and features Brandy in a more soulful element. The vocals are on point, and the lyrics are chilling:

Don't wanna be skitzo this time
Never ever cheat, never lie to me
I'm the most jealous girl in the whole wide world
Don't you ever hurt me I'll change on you

The video was directed by Derek Blanks, with creative direction by Frank Gatson. In addition to shots of Brandy being put into the aforementioned padded cell, the song features Brandy sitting in a room by herself. She has a haunting look as she stares off in the distance. Dressed in all white, it almost feels like Miss Havisham.

With the release of the video, B7 is now available for purchase. The album is available for purchase on all platforms, and you should be able to stream it on any service. We will hopefully be providing a review of the album in the coming weeks as we have time to sit on it and reflect.
