New Album: Avant - Can We Fall In Love

This week saw the release of a new album from Avant. The album, titled Can We Fall In Love, came out on July 10th and was the ninth studio album by the singer. The album has been making some headway since early June when the album's first single, Edible, was released.
I'm going to be upfront here. I'm terrible at the stock market. When I buy or sell a stock, that's a major signal that the company is going to do the exact opposite of what I thought. Sometimes it seems my stock market savvyness bleeds into other areas of interest, like my suspicions for R&B artists.
Take Avant. The dude is talented. When I bought his My Thoughts album and heard Separated, I thought this guy was legit. He had a great voice and entering in the start of the 2000s, had the knack for the more uptempo style of R&B that was overtaking the slower ballads.
Still, I thought Avant was going to be one and done. I didn't know if he had that distinctiveness that would really propel an artist to the top. He wasn't THAT special. Well damn, I was wrong. And honestly, if I had known then what I know now, I probably wouldn't have ever made that prediction.
Avant's the whole package. Heavily involved in the writing of his album, he has writing credits on nearly every track on all of his albums. And he has been consistent, putting out a solid album every few years. I remember the first time I heard 4 Minutes, I was blown away.
Anyways, we should probably talk about Can We Fall In Love. The album by Avant is a short one, clocking in at just 35 minutes across its 10 songs. But it packs in a lot of great R&B into those 35 minutes. The album's first single, Edible, is a solid track that is classic Avant through and through. I've included Edible below for you to have a listen. Let us know what you think and feel free to send us your thoughts on Avant's Can We Fall In Love.
