New Album: Alicia Keys - Alicia

It's six months later than expected, but Alicia Keys has released her new album, Alicia. She has released a number of tracks from the album over the last year, getting audiences ready, but we're now finally able to hear the whole thing.

In August, she released the single So Done, which featured Khalid. The track had a subdued sound to it but promoted a message of ignoring what other people are trying to say and living the life you want to live.

The album's other big single, Underdog, had a similar positive message. The track went out to all the underdogs, telling them that they would one day have their chance. The song was super catchy and performed well on the charts. Probably a product of how we're all feeling like underdogs in this current climate.

The album as a whole tends towards positivity and brighter spirits. As the pandemic continued, the album continued to evolve as she recorded "Good Job" during it and expanded the tracklist to include it. The song is a message to essential workers, praising their efforts to keep the country running.

The album is also filled with several collaborations. Jill Scott is featured on the appropriately named, "Jill Scott." Miguel is on the track "Show Me Love," and "You Save Me" features Snoh Aalegra.

We'll try and get a review of the album up on our page dedicated to Alicia. In the meantime, let us know what you think of the album!
