New Video: 112 - For Us

112 has joined the movement of performances around social justice, releasing the new single "For Us." The track is the latest in their promotion for their upcoming album 112 Forever: Slim & Mike, which has an official release date now of August 28, 2020.

The song has a hard beat, as the guys speak out that we need to make sure that tomorrow is for us. It pushes for the importance of love and to build a future that is better than the present. Slim puts up a lot of the heavy lifting vocally. He sounds great, but it would be nice to see more of a mix of him and Mike, given that 112 is just the two of them now. Still, the track is good, and very catchy.

The video is simple, featuring an empty background and mixed shots of either four dancers, or Slim and Mike. Comparing it to recent tracks about social change, it's a bit lesser of a video as it doesn't really mix in any montages of protest footage or anything inspiring beyond the Black Lives Matter t-shirts.

However, if there's one thing that drives me nuts in the video... it's the dancers. When the four dancers are together, they're wearing masks, but they are all wearing them wrong. If you're going to wear a mask, it has to cover your mouth AND nose. It's a small thing, but it's hard to avoid looking at it when it keeps happening in the video.

This track is the second single from the upcoming 112 Forever: Slim & Mike album. We reported in the past on their first single, Spend it All. The guys are looking to have another track with Looking For Love seeing a video release in the coming weeks.
