Soul II Soul

Soul II Soul

Soul II Soul was founded by Jazzie B and features a changing roster of musicians. The group started in the late 1980s in London. The group dominated the club scene and released their album Club Classics, Volume 1 to much acclaim. The album was released in the United States as Keep On Movin and scored tremendous success, going double plaitnum. The album also scored two platinum singls with 'Back To Life' and the title track 'Keep On Movin.' Both singles topped the US R&B charts and reached the top 5 in the UK.

In 1990, the group released their second album, Volume II: 1990 - A New Decade, which went gold in the U.S. and topped the UK charts. The album featured the successful single 'Get A Life' which reached #5 on the US R&B charts and #3 on the UK charts.

After their second album, the group was unable to replicate their earlier success. Just Right Volume 3 came out in 1992 and reached #3 in the UK with the single Joy reaching #4 on the UK charts and #14 on the US R&B charts.

The group's final effort, Believe Volume 5 faired even worse, with no singles charting in the US and none reaching the top 10 in the UK.
