Mona Lisa
Mona Lisa was born in 1979 in Yonkers, New York. Her mother was of African American/Native American descent and her father was Caucasian.
Mona Lisa scored a contract with Island Records where she recorded and released her debut album, 11-20-79, in 1996. Named for her birthday, the album had some success on the charts. Mona Lisa did a great deal of writing for the album with 6 tracks giving her writing credits. The album scored success with singles 'Can't Be Wasting My Time' reaching #20 on the R&B charts and #65 on the Hot 100, and 'You Said' reaching #33 on the R&B charts.
A second album was being prepared by Mona Lisa that was titled Gettin' It On. The album's lead single 'Peach' had a music video, however, the album never saw release.
Mona Lisa is still involved in the music industry as she appeared on Cam'ron's song 'Girls' in 2004, and is currently signed to Ontourage Entertainment.
Outside of the music industry, Mona Lisa appeared in an episode of the television show Kenan & Kel.
