Main Attraction
Main Attraction came onto the scenes in 1989 as a vocal quartet. The group's first album, By Request, featured covers from the 50s and 60s including The Tokens 'The Lion sleeps Tonight,' Sam Cooke's 'You Send Me,' and The Impressions 'It's All right.' The group put an interesting spin on the tracks, blending the classic feel with the New Jack flavor of the time period. However, for the most part, the group felt like a doo-wop group of old.
The group released their second album, Sweet Harmony, in 1991. The album featured a similar approach as their debut with several covers. The group had a rich doo-wop sound that came strong on tracks like 'Come Softly To Me.' With the group's second album, they also went beyond covers and introduced several original tracks including 'Mama,' 'Take Another Look,' and 'Sweet Harmony.'
