For Real
For Real was a female quartet comprised of Wendi Williams, Latanyia Baldwin, Josina Elder and Necia Bray. The group formed in 1992 and worked hard to get a record deal. The group finally managed to get signed when they sang for their manager at the airport and a worker at A&M records overheard.
The group's debut album, It's A Natural Thang, came out in 1994 and had some chart success. The single 'You Don't Wanna Miss' reached #28 on the R&B charts and 'Easy To Love' reached #65.
1995 was a big year for the group as they apeared in Italian Vogue and appeared in the movie Shake, Rattle and Rock. During the same year, the group recorded the single 'Freedom' for the movie Panther with several big name acts. The group also recorded tracks for the soundtrack of Waiting To Exhale.
Free, the girls second album, was released in 1996. The album's single 'Like I Do' reached #72 on the Hot 100 and #48 on the R&B charts.
