Dwele

Andwele Gardner, known as Dwele to the music world, was born in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of ten, Dwele's life was hit hard when his father was murdered outside of his home, and Dwele turned to songwriting. He briefly attended Wayne State but left to work for AAA.

In 2003, Dwele was signed to Virgin Records who were impressed by his songwriting and performances. He released his album Subject on the label that same year and gained a strong audience in Europe. The album had two charting singles "Find A Way" which reached #42 on the R&B charts, and "Hold On" which reached #53.

His sophomore album, Some Kinda... came out in 2005. IT's single "I Think I Love You" reached #53 on the R&B charts. After the album, Dwele left Virgin Records and signed with Koch Records.

At Koch, Dwele released his album Sketches of A Man in 2008. The album's single, "I'm Cheatin" reached #64 on the R&B charts.

Dwele has also collaborated with Kanye West on the track "Flashing Lights" as well as the aforementioned Hold On, and with Common on "The People."
