Portrait

Portrait came out of L.A. onto the R&B scene in 1992 riding on the end of the New Jack Swing era. The group's self-titled debut album was released in the same year and featured two hits on the charts. 'Honey Dip' reached #18 on the R&B charts with its infectious ability to get people on the dance floor. The group's second single, 'Here We Go Again!' featured similar sounds and reached #11 on the Hot 100.

In 1995, the group released their second album, All That Matters. The album had a few minor hits with 'I Can Call You' reaching #22 on the R&B charts and 'How Deep Is Your Love,' a cover of the Bee Gees song of the same name, briefly appearing on the Hot 100. However, the group never was able to reach the same level as they did on their first album and the group faded from the scenes after their second album's release.
