MoofuLol thanks. Well, from what I understand they have disbanded indefinitely. I say that because they were some communications problems lol. As in I didn't fully understand some of his answers so I conversed with him as well and think I'll be able to piece it together.

I'm still waiting on Damon to reply. I was hoping to do a joint Q&A but looks like I'll have to do them seperate. As I said before Nick didn't really clarify or go into detail with his answers so hopefully Damon can help spread some insight. We need to catch up soon lol.

MoofuAwesome! The page looks good, can't wait till we get it bumping. Anyways, I've contacted both Damon and Nick from No Question. Nick added me as a friend on fb. I also have Silk as a friend on fb as well, here they are

MoofuAlso, I was wondering if you still wanted to do an R&B haven fb group? I'm willing to make it with ur permission. I think it'd be a thousand times easier to set up interviews and what not. Only problem is I only have like 4 members here on fb.

Posted by Moofu at 2010-07-20 19:10:34
MoofuSo I've found Garfield from Shai here

http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100000564644937&ref=search

I think this would be a good one for you to tackle. I know you're a big Shai fan (bigger than me anyways).

According to Shai's fb group here

http://www.facebook.com/pages/SHAIS-WORLD-90s-RB-Group/190551820997

there are only TWO members left. So, I think we know our first question lol.

MoofuI'm disappointed with the Wanya thing. I'm trying too look for guys that are more "unknown" ex. 7 Mile, No Question, N-Phase. We'll see how my search goes.

Posted by Moofu at 2010-07-19 11:49:48
MoofuHey bro,

Wanya accepted me as a friend on fb but I'm still waiting for a msg reply. I'm going to try to contact him again as well as Shawn. I also managed to find Damon from No Question who I sent a msg too as well. I noticed you had posted Mike from Portrait on here, did you contact him yet?

KeeHello Guru pleeeeease help. This is a few words from a song that I love but cannot name the artist or the song. I believe it was a late 90s or early 2000s song. It is a R & B make singer. Words: enough is enough. Girl I'm not leavin....that's all I have. I know is not enough

tha seekerHey guru...im still looking for this r&b group who covered the song "baby don't get hooked on me" by Mac Davis...i used to have their album back in 1990's if any body can help please holla back...

Posted by carli at 2010-04-19 19:27:48
carliThere was a song that came out in the 90's I only remember bits and pieces of the song 1 line in the song is like" Do it like this an do it like that" and another line is " Baby gone and take control of me you can do anything you want to me" And in the hook the singer keeps repeating" Mind Blowin". I thought it was Bobby Brown but its not. If someone could help me find this song it would be great as I have been trying to find it for over a year. Thanks

I know it has been a long hiatus but I see you have made some improvements so congrats and keep it up, please excuse my absence as I have been immersed in work up to my ears, I was in charge of establishing a new affiliate (J.V.) for my company thus I was not able to even check my personal emails, anyway I hope that we can keep in touch more often from now on, God bless you and till next time,
Best regards.

MoofuHey Guru, I was wondering if you could send me the rare boyz II Men tracks again. My computer got wiped recently, so I lost everything :(

Posted by Buddha at 2009-09-11 14:20:10
BuddhaIndeed :(

You heard that new 50 Cent/Ne-Yo track yet?

http://limelinx.com/files/8925bb240512377091ef0d5bdd7ddb9b

Ne-Yo sounds great on it. He may have just saved 50's career too lol.

Posted by Buddha at 2009-09-11 11:02:18
BuddhaYeah, it's a shame.

I messaged him about it and got this...

"as we all know, that's tha only shyt radio plays, consumers buy, clubs and djs spin....sad, but true.
but, the difference in me and the others is that...i can turn it off and kill 'em..."

what do you think of that mentality? I personally don't like it.

Posted by Buddha at 2009-09-10 23:07:13
BuddhaRemember that interview we did with Smokey, and he said he hated autotune?

Well, guess who just jumped on the bandwagon? SMH

Posted by shorty85 at 2009-09-06 21:16:17
shorty85hi. ok, yes that is pretty wild. Every thing happens for a reason, so, if I pop up again an ur list, gimme an ad. As I will do the same coz I believe in fate. So, u never know, I might one day have to come to come and visit u to do an aricle on ur site. Or some thing. lol. It is strange though.

Posted by Buddha at 2009-08-13 21:26:34
BuddhaHey Guru, I just e-mailed Kiley's management team and asked them if they were down for an interview. I also explained to them that we could do what we did with Smoke's interview if it was easier for her.

Posted by Moofu at 2009-08-11 20:58:47
MoofuLOL I didn't really think about that until later. Sorry bro, I should have let you know glad you figured it out.

BuddhaHey Guru, We might have a chance of getting an interview with Dalvin of Jodeci. He runs his own myspace and facebook now, so I could try hitting him up.

Posted by Moofu at 2009-06-26 02:26:24
MoofuHey man,

Sorry for the late reply, I been busy with exams and stuff. Summer should be interesting, not a lot planned but I plan to live it up b4 school starts up again. How about you?

I was listening to "ghost" and I found I came to the same interpretion as you. At first I felt it was more of "stalker" song along the lines to "girl in the life magazine" or something. However, looking at it from the perspective of a losted loved on looking down on you is interesting.

While "Billy Gost" I thought was about a man who cannot commit himself. He is a drifter and much like a rolling stone. While he has children and responsibilities he refuses to acknowledge them and simply runs.

I have to listen to it some more for more insightful interpretation but thats what I have so far.

Posted by JohnnyAwesome24 at 2009-06-14 12:09:34
JohnnyAwesome24Never hated, just has shitty taste. The people honestly just aren't interesting lol.

Posted by Moofu at 2009-06-14 01:41:11
MoofuWhats up Guru? We haven't chatter in a while. I managed to find a copy of Tony Rich's album "words" and his music is quite peculiar. Some of the tracks make no sense to me ex. "Grass is Green", "Billy Goat", "Ghost". Anyways hope all is well drop me an email or something.

Posted by shorty85 at 2009-06-13 10:39:30
shorty85so guru, .. tell me, who are you?

Posted by JohnnyAwesome24 at 2009-06-12 12:32:28

Posted by mansoor_warrior at 2009-06-09 10:13:02
mansoor_warriorhey Guru, I'm new around here, signed up when I saw your rare Boyz II Men thread, I've got most of the songs except:
Forever Lady (I'll Make Love To You Single B Side)

I would really appreciate it if you could post a link to it, thanks!

Posted by ilikeit at 2009-05-28 09:34:10
ilikeitI forgot to tell you I can't do it if they don't give us the music. Because the interview will be based solely on the music. I hope that's not a problem for them.

Posted by ilikeit at 2009-05-27 08:35:32
ilikeitYES IM STILL GAME THATS MY GIRL! AND NO I DONT USE AIM BUT WE CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT.

Posted by Buddha at 2009-05-01 15:32:26
BuddhaHey Guru, I might be able to get Danny Boy for an interview.

He was a Death Row artist that had a single out back in 95, which was "Slip And Slide" produced by Devante.

He's also the guy that sang the hook for "I Ain't Mad At Cha" by 2pac and many other 2pac tracks.

Posted by Havok214 at 2009-04-25 18:31:22
Havok214Just wanted to let you know that I mailed Mac of Hi-Five on myspace but he never responded so I guess thats a "no".

Anyways, when do you think the Smokey interview is going to be up on the site? I have people waiting plus his album comes out on the 22nd

Posted by JohnnyAwesome24 at 2009-03-20 08:15:44
JohnnyAwesome24Or perishes?

Posted by Havok214 at 2009-03-18 18:43:43
Havok214I feel like they have a lot of interesting details that have never really been cleared up. Like Toriano's(original member) prison sentence, Pooh's(another original) accident that left him paralyzed, Tony's death , also his supposed "beef" with Tevin Campbell etc.
It would make for an interesting interview. I guess I'll mail Mac and see what happens.

Posted by Havok214 at 2009-03-18 17:36:33
Havok214Yo Guru, I was thinking about trying to set up an interview with you and Mac, one of the guys from Hi-Five. I havent contacted him yet but he has a myspace. Theres a few interesting unknowns that I want to know about the group. Would you want me to try to set that up or what?

Posted by JohnnyAwesome24 at 2009-02-09 18:20:19
JohnnyAwesome24LOVE Silk. "Freak Me" is the quintessential banging song of the 90's. I enjoy troop, but they aren't special to me.

Posted by Havok214 at 2008-12-30 21:15:01
Havok214Well, I had a little accident when I was trying to figure out the embed feature with B2M's "Ribbon in the Sky". I couldnt exactly figure out which part of the embedding code that I was supposed to get rid of(I dont understand what you wrote about which part to delete). So its something you'll have to fix. I guess I'll just leave that feature alone for now.

Posted by JohnnyAwesome24 at 2008-12-29 17:47:38
JohnnyAwesome24 Thanks hombre

Posted by gloomypoet at 2008-12-29 09:39:38
gloomypoetDear Guru why the Contribute link doesn't work? is it my bad connection or is it something else?

Posted by Moofu at 2008-12-28 21:53:10
MoofuOh, that's okay then. That'd be nice if you can check. And I agree with Bunky the contest was a lot of fun and this site is off the hook. :)

Posted by bunky1787 at 2008-12-26 21:00:23
bunky1787Hey Guru, appreciate what you did with the contest. Though I didn't win, i loved the questions and the whole idea. This site is really turning out to be something special, thank you :)

Posted by Moofu at 2008-12-24 00:57:49
MoofuHey Guru, I was wondering if you knew if Quick or Wingo ever took any leads on any JE tracks. Just heard Wingo take the spot light and he can blow!

Posted by Havok214 at 2008-12-23 19:36:33
Havok214So I zipped up all those extra B2M files I have and then I realized the file was 283 megs. I was like "Nobody is gonna DL a file that big". Would you rather me just zip the ones you need?

Posted by bunky1787 at 2008-12-22 05:37:33
bunky1787I think the way u rate them should be altered considerably, but not completely changed. I really enjoy reading them. Yea i just think u should continue to knock em off at your own pace, or u could request help of some members u trust. i just want honest album reviews from people who actually know and listen to r&b, not some magazine or site that doesnt specialize in it...

Posted by Havok214 at 2008-12-20 10:52:49
Havok214Check your email bro.

Posted by JohnnyAwesome24 at 2008-12-18 07:44:54
JohnnyAwesome24 Lol idk I guess I wanted to guess a thousand times. I had NO idea as to the international group. I got today's though.

Posted by Moofu at 2008-12-17 12:31:08
MoofuI've done that with some of my friends getting them to listen to some BLACKstreet and Ne-Yo. They liked it but still hate on R&B. The audio q was a little easier. I got it cause of Nate's voice it just stood out to me.

Posted by JohnnyAwesome24 at 2008-12-17 08:04:12
JohnnyAwesome24I'm so pissed, I was going to guess Boyz II Men but something just sounded weird. Oh man I could punch a baby right now.

Posted by Moofu at 2008-12-15 19:25:55
MoofuThe rest of my post got cut off. But I was curious if you had given "visions of a sunset" another listen. I wanted to know your thoughts on the meaning of the song.

Posted by Moofu at 2008-12-15 19:24:50

gloomypoetThanks once more, for welcoming me and for your comments on Johnny's (no) and i have one request i'd like to ask you, can we chat live on these subjects, is it possible to have open chat forums here? i know that there is a big time difference maybe 7 or 8 hours as now i'm in my office and it's(11:45 a.m.) but i wish we can do so, as there is a lot i can learn from you guys.

Posted by gloomypoet at 2008-11-02 02:55:58
gloomypoetHello Dear Guru, i was so glad to have found a comment from you on my account and i once again thank you for the opportunity to engage into RnB forums and share thoughts and learn facts and hear great songs, and thank you for having the time, given your busy schedule trying to update the site and apply the comments, but as for your question i do not come from England but from a tiny country called Lebanon in the Middle East it is a great country and i hope that you may one day visit it to see what i mean, but nowadays i am working and living in the K.S.A. and my Mega wish is that one day i will be able to attend a Boyz II Men concert, if there is any chance they will come to the Middle East (probably Dubai) i will definately not miss the chance.

JohnnyAwesome24Hey Guru, just wanted to stop by here and thank you for this amazing site that you created.

Posted by Moofu at 2008-08-25 20:57:59
MoofuYour welcome! Well my dad used to play a lot of his old records around the house and played the oldies station 24/7 in the car. Since then, I've always loved vocal groups mainly from 50,60s,70s and 90s though. You should check out the movie "Shake,Rattle & Roll" There's a clip of K-Ci,Jojo,Rahsan Patterson and Jesse Powell singing acapella on a street corner.

Posted by Soul Supreme at 2008-08-25 15:38:23
Soul SupremeYea! I had a mistake adding some songs on the lists! but lemme forward my top 10 to ya once i finish, salamat!...

MoofuWhats up Guru? The platters are great, my favorite song from the platters is "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes". My list is long... lol. So, here's some doo wop songs you might like and should check out.

Little Anthony & The Imperials - Tears on my Pillow & Going out of my head
The Platters - Smoke Gets In Your Eyes (awesome song)
The Penguins - Earth Angel
Jive Five - My True Story
Shirelles - Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow

Out of curiosity how did you get into such old songs?

Get at me if you want to post that video on this site...I think it'd be cool for users to promote their videos they have on you tube of original stuff or covers...subject to your approval

Posted by moon at 2008-03-26 17:58:58
moonhey guru!
I think this site has the potential to become the internets's biggest database of 90's rnb music. I know u must be busy juggling your secular work and I think that with a little support frm other members we can make it happen. The bios, lyrics, videos and groups you have compiled is amazing! Imagine how much more so if everyone pitched in and compiled artists that we currently don't have! We can also compile 90's movie soundtracks that are known forrnb songs (like the bodyguard jason's lyric etc). if no one else is up to the challenge I am! anyway hope to chat soon :)

Posted by bri at 2008-03-19 14:03:26

MrBajanYo Guru..question for ya...who produced the album for a Few Good Men...cus there is an uncanny similiarity between "Have I Never" and Babyface's "And Our Feelings".

Posted by Mike at 2008-02-08 12:45:20
MikeHey Guru. Nope it is not me. That a pic of Jon B at a concert. I don't play much anymore, just mess around here and there. Thanks again.
