Best Of 90s R&B
Top Ten R&B/HipHop Collaborations.....Part II
by Bunky1787
Let's hope the sequel lives up to the original....
- 1. Nas ft. Lauryn Hill-If I Ruled the World
One of the greatest rappers teams up with one of the most talented female singers of the 90's to give a memorable performance.
- 2. It's So Hard-Big Pun ft. Donnell Jones
Though his club hit with Joe is a classic, it's not so hard to see why these two could also be a hit-making duo.
- 3. The City is Mine-Jay Z ft. Blackstreet
Usually I'm not a fan of samples but this early hit by Hova uses an oldie but goodie from the 80's.
- 4. I Need A Girl Pt. 2-Diddy, Loon, Ginuwine, Mario Winans
Part one was kinda sappy but part 2 just gets your head bobbin' and has a good message.
- 5. Did You Ever Think-R. Kelly ft. Nas
Did you ever think Kelz and Nas could pull off such a great combination?... hell yes.
- 6. Where You At?-Joe ft. Papoose
Most Joe fans prefer his slow jams to his hiphop collabs, but both musically and lyrically speaking, this is one of the best of his career. Papoose's rap is the ultimate compliment to Joe's plea.
- 7. Hope-Twista ft. Faith Evans
I never took Twista as a serious rapper until I heard this song from COACH CARTER. Instills a great message throughout and the chorus is amazing.
- 8. Gotta Get You Home-Foxy Brown ft. Blackstreet
Most hiphop fans remember her breakout hit "I'll Be" but it's this song from her debut that I remember.
- 9. F*ckin' You Tonight-Notorious BIG ft. R. Kelly
All I can say is should have been a # 1 hit. THIS is what hiphop soul should be.
- 10. Ghetto Gospel-Tupac ft. Elton John
Ok, ok I kno Elton John may not be in your ipods, and he isn't exactly r&b, but tell me you don't think this is a soulful collaboration between two of the most talented men in music in the past 2 decades?
