Anyone here use Pandora, the customizable internet radio? J/w wondering if anyone wanted to share stations.

If you don't know what this is, it's essentially you pick and artist (or song) and the radio builds a station around it. It will play songs that it thinks you will like. As it plays songs, you can say whether you like it or not, and from that, the station continues to tailor itself to your likings.

I just recently started using it, so my stations are fledgelings. I, of course, started with Sir Knight. Anyways, another thing you can do is share your stations. So, in an attempt to become more ecclectic, I'm looking to add more stations; I'm wondering if anyone uses this already or will start using it and we can swap stations.

website is pandora.com.

As for free music, I'm not sure if there is any site that you can do so w/o a flash player. (Try pandora.com or slacker.com though to make sure). An alternative is if you have iTunes, you can listen to various radio stations. I also think you can listen to the radio w/ Windows Media Player but I haven't done so in a while

I just tried the site pandora and it's pretty cool, but the thing is every song they play I own already so it's dead on as far as what I like. But it would be nice to hear other tracks because I'm always looking for new stuff to buy, stuff that I don't have. But I guess that might be hard considering I buy everything. All in all it's a cool thing. Thanks.

Trying it now. Though I was hoping for an embed option but oh well. What's the difference between this and slacker? Either better than the other?

Figures, I put my starting artist as Tony Rich Project and the first song I got was by Babyface. LOL, I guess they sound so similar that they give Babyface precedence.

ilikeit, you may want to try slacker. On slackr radio you can pick artists you want on the station and as long as you pick 10 or so artists, it will play only those artists.

I like to hear a lot of stuff I know, with a little nugget of the unknown, so i feel pandora does that a little better than slacker. Also with pandora, I get unlimited skips, whereas slacker gives you only 6 per hour...unless you pay for premium service.

Guru, I shared a station with you. I was listening to your "Tony Rich" station...they played two good songs. "Ghost" then they jumped to "Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda" so I stopped ahring and just stole the station. You still have yours, but in order to give thumbs up I had to own it.

Thanks! haha

mwahahaha, I haven't been back in a lil while but I liked the tool and it was a good way to hear new songs. Good to see we'll have teamed up on it!
