Came across an amazing singer called Kelly Erez who I was totally amazed by! You don't really hear much what I call 'classic sounding R&B' like what we had in the 80's and 90's but this girl is bringing it back! At present she is unsigned but I see she is getting a lot of attention online.
When I went onto her website www.kellyerez.com and was really taken with her song 'Come To Me' which the vocals reminds me of Prince's style. All I can say is it's about time we had an artist like this bringing REAL music back into our lives. Check her out - what do you think?
So I recently bought Brian McKnight's Evolution of a Man album and it's... meh.
Maybe it's good, I don't know. But what I've noticed is that I love Brian McKnight's songs, but I hate his albums. I realized it as I started looking back at every album he's put out, there's always say 3-5 songs that I LOVE on each album. However, most of the other ones are forgettable and when I listen to an album, I find myself skipping along to the ones I really enjoy.
Am I alone in this? Do you guys love his albums from beginning to end?
I'm sorry but I love every song Brian has ever written. LOL No seriously I have never skipped a track on a Brian McKnight album. Maybe I'm just always lost in the moment.
That's exactly how I feel Moofu lol. I basically want to go through the album, rip the tracks I like, and be done with it. I mean listening to the new one, there are a lot of almost poetic songs, but their delivery just seems week.
I've gotta listen some more. Really, my only standout from a quick listen was the single.
However, this album seems like the type that needs a few listens. A lot of it seems more deep in its delivery, sounding almost like poetry. So I'll have to get back on that :). What about for you?
i really like the cd. i bought it at target and it came with a dvd exclusive thing and basically he explains how all the songs on this album are not "sad songs". some are slow tempo, but he talks about he's keeping an positive outlook on love..anyways...
i'm liking track 10 - always be my baby, and all the tracks behind it. the other more uptempo tracks are good too 'when ur lovin' me', etc. pretty awesome record nowadays. i like how he kept some of his old sounds, while experimenting with new C:
brian mcknight is probably one of the greatest singers but i agree, i only enjoy his biggest hits. His newest album "evolution of a man" i must admit is not that great... its actually kinda sh*tty imo lol... worse than some of the newer artist albums lol
I'm ashamed to say I still havent heard this yet. 2 jobs and school and other stuff been keepin me from listening to new music.
As far as B. McKnight in general, I feel like he can be too ballad heavy sometimes (but his uptempos are generally not his strong points). Even still, I enjoy the majority of his material.
