I just had a discussion with someone about this vid. You know, damn the fact that Devante looks a hot azz mess and the fact that they auto tuned K-Ci (which I hope was not out of necessity...) the song sounds fairly decent. Annnnd... you know, I'm not in the habit of bitching about someone I like making a comeback album and me not purchasing. Now, granted, I'm not all that fussed about an H-Town comeback (esp. sans Dino (rip)) but I'd prolly pick up the album just to see where they're going with it.
If Jodeci decides to actually DO an album instead of just this feature set on this song, I'd be interested in what they come up with and purchase immediately.
At first I didn't really like the song but I'm starting to get used to it. It's a fitting tribute to H-Town's older success and they sound fairly good.
I feel Nyckei though that it's weird without Dino but hey, can't stop the other guys careers because they're a man down.
Honestly, K-ci and jojo both sound bad these days. If anyone has heard their latest Japan-only album "Love" (released in 2008), you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. They also had to be auto-tuned there for voice correction, not for the trend.
As for this song, its alright. Nothing worth writing home about but its not terrible.
Havok. I know EXACTLY what your talking about. K-Ci sounds bad but JoJo is just embarrassing (on the Japan release LOVE) . That was horrible.
This HTown and Jodeci song though is weak. It just doesn't sound good at all. These mufuckas are damn near forty and they're tryna make a "knockin the boots"/"feenin" collabo 2009 edition after both groups are waaaay past their days.
I know its sounds bad to say this, BUT Shazam and G.I. (yes....G.I.) outshined K-Ci and JoJo. All these guys are done anyway. None of them were able to adapt to the (current) times with their music into this era like other still standing new jack swing era artists (Mary J, Blige, Raphael Saadiq, Boyz II Men, Mint Condition etc.)
They need to give it up, especially JoJo, who i heard is very sick.
