What is your opinion on R&B songs that sample old songs?
ilikeit 2009-08-20 05:39:37 Total Posts: 1156	R&B Guru Says Yea, I'm with bunky. The thing that bothers me the most though, is the almost duplication of music today. A lot of production seems to be getting really lazy as you'll hear almost identical samples on a number of tracks. I think about 5 songs all used the same beat as Jaheim's Put That Woman First when it came out. Then you've got Beyonce's Halo and Kelly Clarkson's Already Gone. I mean, being inspired and using allusions to other records is cool... but there's a line. The producer said that it's two different tracks. For instance, that song "Juicy Fruit" by Mtume was recorded by at least 8 people it seem like. When I hear this song know I think of Biggie. LOL thats crazy. He can say that all he wants, and maybe if they were done 5 years apart, he'd be justified. But doing two songs like that, so close together is just sloppy. and lol at the biggie comment, I thought the same thing.
