Did anyone watch them? What did you think?

To start it off, I thought Maxwell sounded pretty tight and it was nice seeing Tevin Campbell. As much as Johnny hates Tevin, I think he still sounds solid and I hope he'll come back with a new album.

Most of the new artist performances were weak, especially Jamie Foxx. Dude's voice was roaring with AutoTune... ironic since he was the host and introduced Jay Z's Death Of AutoTune.

The Michael Jackson tribute seemed tacked on to me (as it was.. but really, it mostly seemed like "Shout out to Michael Jackson! Rest in peace bro!").

What did you guys think of the 90s men performance? Keith Sweat and Guy sounded pretty weak I thought but BBD sounded like they still had some of it. I wish they'd done a bigger line-up, or a different set though as these guys sounded like they were having trouble. Shoulda put Tevin in it :)

I try my hardest not to watch BET and I totally forgot the BET awards was airing. If I had known they were gonna do a 90's tribute, I may have put more effort into catching it.

Ok so I watched the re-air yesterday. Alot of weak performances but I did somewhat enjoy the Tyrese/Johnny Gill/Trey thing. I was hoping to hear my 2 favorite O'Jays's songs which are "Help" and "Who am I" but neither were performed. I"ll be there by Ne-yo/Jamie Foxx was decent.

Saw a re-run of em last night, it was so thrown together. I like Jamie Foxx, but even he couldn't save that boring show.

yeah....lot of damage control goin' around the net over this....people trying to reiterate the amount of time they had to revamp this. But seriously, it goes beyond that. It's not missteps that people are disappointed with....Lil Wayne warbling about how he wants to do every girl in the world while scantily clad girls parade the stage, with a real quick 'we love you, Mike!' tossed on the end does NOT equate to a 'tribute'. If someone wants to argue that there's a time and place for garbage like Lil Wayne, you sure couldn't convince anyone that THIS was the night for it.

High points: Tevin's re-emergence, BBD, Ne-Yo (yeah, he did his thing), and the OJays (who in their 60s sounded better than most of the artists there, lol). Worth mentioning were the Keith Sweat/Guy appearances (although Keith and Aaron didn't really sound their best), and the Johnny/Tyrese/Trey thing (although Trey got hugely outdone, IMHO).

I feel you bunky. Great job reviewing the show Fullasoul. You honestly hit everything I was feeling. I'm really curious how much was changed due to Michael Jackson's death since there wasn't really any significant tribute.

Do you think Tevin's gonna come back to the business?

And I agree on Keith and Aaron, they were sounding hoarse lol

@Havok I'm with you there. I truly dispise of BET and their award show, but I watched maybe a good hour of the show and then got bored of it and went home. I think I watched up to Tevin Campbell performance and after that I don't know what happend.

I agree R&B Guru about the Michael Jackson tribute, I know his death was like all of a sudden, but it could have been a little bit better.

I liked when New Edition and BBD peformed I thought they were pretty good. I saw Keith Sweat it felt like I was at his concert again, he did great. Tevin Campbell was wonderful and GUY did...ok. I sure do hope Tevin come back to the music industry.

I will add that Monica did a great job she took over that song. I hope Monica can come out with a better CD this time instead of that crap she was doing before.
