Don't get me wrong, I listen more to the 90s r&b more than any decade in r&b. But I just wanna know what are some of your 2000's r&b groups & artists that you would recommend others to give a listen to. Good or bad music, we can all learn about new artists and groups together. :D

I say give a listen to Carl Thomas, specifically his second album...the name escapes me right now. But, it's the album where he sings "She Is" w/ LL Cool J. Good song, pretty good album. That's really all I got for 2000s artists...

Good choice with Carl Thomas, I was going to throw him on.

Unfortunately, I couldn't give you a lot of recommendations since I don't listen to a lot of new R&B. Still, here's a few that I like a lot:

Avant - "4 Minutes", "Wanna Be", "Get Away", "Separated"
Jaheim - "Fabulous", "Never", a lot more
Jersey Ave - "Beautiful Girl", "I'll Wait Right Here"

Yea, that's about all I've got sadly. I do listen to a few other jams to get my head bobbing when I drive like Chris Brown's "Kiss Kiss" and Ray J's "Sexy Can I" but that's about it.

Anyone else got any suggestions?

Also, Musiq Soulchild counts as 2000s right? "Love" is one of my favorite tracks...period. He has a new album out, but I don't care for what I've heard of it. The album, Soulstar, is real nice, so you should check that one out.

Also, Alicia Keys? 2000s?

If we're talkin' just 2000's, then i gotta mention 2 guys who deserve recognition....

Javier - Self titled debut & "Left of Center"(First is better)
"Crazy", "Biggest Mistake", "October Sky", "If I Never Get to Heaven", "The Answer is Yes"

Craig David - "Born to Do It", "Slicker Than Your Average", "The Story Goes", "Trust Me"(Born or Story Goes are his best)
"Fill Me In", "Rise and Fall", "Hypnotic", "Unbelievable"

Soul are you a big Musiq fan? Him and Chaka Khan are going to be performing in NYC. Tickets are 55 for general admission, but it's buy 1 get 1 free... hint hint. The show's Tuesday August 12th if you're interested.

I've never been a fan of either (really just enver heard much of their stuff), but Musiq's Who Knows and Love are great tracks.

I am fan..I wouldn't say "big fan" though. I would consider going if it wasn't my last week of work.

As for the hints...what are you trying to say? I don't know you....

Bunky I'm glad you mentioned Craig David "Born to Do It" was a very good album.

I would add Keyshia Cole to the list also.

I'll agree with keyshia. She always puts out very good material. Nd yea her performance was subpar but i'll bump "I Should Have Cheated" till the end of time.

The r&b this decade I listen to are usually underrated and/or underground, hardly ever do I listen to those mainstream ones. lol, so here are some, that you may or may not of heard of..

Dirty Rose: myspace.com/therealdirtyrose
A trio group (Chase, Zandric, and Q) group straight from Houston, TX. Their new single "All For Love", reminds me of something that Day 26 would do, then again... of course it would, because they have that Bryan Michael Cox writing/producing for them.

One Chance: myspace.com/onechance
This four member group (Jon, Rob, Michael, and Courtney) hauls in from Chicago, Ill, got their break when they performed for Usher. They made their debut on Usher's 2005's movie In The Mix with their songs "That's My Word" and "Could This Be Love."

Nelson aka The Prince of Bad Boy: myspace.com/nel1
Dispite most of the r&b songs out there now talk about sex, stealing my girlfriend, or licking on a lollipop.. lol, Nelson delievers something meaningful, sings about love, being hurt, etc.. songs like "I Won't", "Falling Back In Love Again", and "Hard To Believe". If its not on his myspace, imeem may have it.

Marcus Voyce: myspace.com/marcusvoyce
I heard about this guy through a friend of mines, who started playing his music on an online radio (which no longer is available). This guys voice is smooooth, I was kinda surprised that he was non-african american. My two favorite tracks include "Addicted" and "Drip Sweat". A couple of days ago he recently released his song "Shoot It" on his myspace featuring Famous.

Ray L aka Ray Lavender: myspace.com/raylavender
I dislike the fact he comes from Akon, but looking past that, this guy has got a pretty good voice. I flipped the channel on to BET the other day, and I seen his video for his song "Stay".
