Okay so we've been discussing our opinions on how r&b will turn out in the next decade... so lets each pick ONE new artist/group that could begin a new positive trend/future in r&b in the next decade... here's mine....

Kevin Michael- cant find any links on him right now but a few of his jams are IT DONT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE TO ME, WEEKEND JUMPOFF, LOVE LETTER, & VICKY SECRETS.

The kis is young, but his voice is impressive and soulful for his age.

It's a cop out since you all know it, but I think Ahmir will be a leader in R&B. They've shown their stubborness in working with the labels and their willingness to try their own thing. They've found a good balance between ballads and uptempo tracks so they can catch the old fans and hte new ones.

I think they're the only ones capable right now of bringing the group scene back.

I honestly can't really see anyone really being big for a long stretch of time. I guess Raheem DeVaughn? Jaheim? Tank?

Well is the question of scale of popularity or of continuing the quality of R&B?

To be honest, I have almost completely given up on new music. More than 90% is trash or borderline. Even alot of artist with long tenure and who have proven themselves in the past, have largely dissapointed me with the albums released in the last 2-3 years . So I really dont check for new music with excitement. I"m not really worried about it though because there's a near limitless amount of material from the past for me to enjoy. As far as I'm concerned, it's "new" if I've never heard it.

I haven't given up on new music yet. I liked the new Case, J. Holiday and Ruben Studdard album. But, I agree with you Havok that artist who have proven themselves in the past have put out poor albums (boyz ii men comes to mind).

J Holiday is trash and Reuben, while talented, is hard for me to take seriously. I do like his new single, though I can't remember the name.

You mean other than his voice and the fact that he looks like he is a Ugandan AIDS baby? Nothing.

You are probably on to something though, he may be pretty big for a while. R&B is doomed.

I agree with what Moofu said about Boyz II Men. Their 2002 joint Full Circle is one of my fav albums, but The Remedy is horrible, I tried my best to like it but cant
