Anyone else pissed that Plies/Ashanti sampled "Two Occasions"
Havok214 2009-03-09 13:28:20 Total Posts: 407	So I happened to turn on the local hip-hop/rnb radio station for a minute when I got in my car earlier, only to hear what initially sounded like "Two Occasions" by the Deele (because they sampled the beat). It turned out to be some Plies song ft. Ashanti(as horrible as you can probably imagine). That was my "WTF" of the day, hearing them destroy that classic. Its just funny how when I was watching the video on youtube, I seen all these comments from kiddies saying "the beat is dope/hot.. etc". I've began to notice several songs I've been hearing back from '08 til now have been sampling a lot of 80s/90s songs. ie.. Plies & Ne-Yo - Bust It Baby pt 2 (Janet Jackson - Come Back To Me) Casely - Meet Me In My Bedroom (Silk - Meeting In My Bedroom) Play-N-Skillz ft. Slim - Lick U Up & Down (Silk - Freak Me) there's several others, but that's all i can think of right now. That's one of me and my best friend's "inside joke" songs. Diane Warren she makes some great hit music I think Ashanti should really work with her. I can remember one time when Fabolous was going to use Ashanti for Tamia song "so into you", but Fabolous ended up doing the song with Tamia since it was her song to start off with. Can you imagine if Ashanit did sing that part of "so into you"? I think Piles should have did the same thing and had Babyface sing the hook instead of Ashanti. The Tamia version is 100x better and is also on her album.
