This is meant for those who consider themselves singers (yes, I'm sure we ALL sing to some degree, so everyone can answer I suppose). A few questions...is there an artist out there (esp. 90s R&B) whose style you feel matches your own voice real well, almost to the point where you think you may be able to do it better? And on the flip side, whose voice is just out of your league (or sometimes range) that you still try to emulate anyways.

Here are my answers:
The one I feel I match up the best with is Eric Benet. I love his style, especially his early stuff. Honorable mention: Musiq and Tony Rich

As for a voice I simply can't touch (excluding females...which I am not :) ) I would have to say Brian McKnight. Most of his notes I can hit, but not with the same ease that comes out in his voice. He's just ridiculous. And the runs that he sings...it's one thing to sing them it's another thing to hear them the way he does...craziness. Honorable mention: Wanya (in bridge of On Bended Knee and So Amazing) and Kevon Edmonds (don't think he sings a note below middle C haha..his upper range is through the roof and I don't have all that)

Guru? Your answers?

Lol MY Answers? I feel like the singer who best represents my singing is Biz Markie. In that, it sounds awful and never really shows anything worthwhile.

I love hearing your comments on artists voices though. I wish I had knowledge on that kind of stuff :-\.

Any other (casual/professional) singers who visit the site? I'd love to see what you guys like to do.

Nice...good song. All of my fav Blackstreet songs are the faster ones (Fix and Don't Leave), which really aren't my "style" though I still enjoy them.

Is that it? No one else is going to weigh in? C'mon I knwo someone sings something in the shower and can tear it up...
