hey guys!!
I'm new around here, my name is Jessi and I'm a self proclaimed rnb freak lol.
just curious what everyone thinks of the new India.Arie album? I can't stop listening to it!!!! I picked up the new Al Green album the other day and wanted to give that a spin, but I couldn't get myself to take India out of the CD player lol. she's one of my all time favourite artists anyway, so I was more than a little excited when I heard about the new album, but everytime I listen to it it feels like the first time. So many new perspectives and things to think about and she's keepin' it real once again!!! I love it.

lol loving. agreed!!!! she's amazing,someone I totally look up too. her songs have gotten me through!! whenever i'm feelin' a lil less than positive I just put on strength, courage and wisdom or video or there's hope or many other songs!!! and like I said, ready for love is my favourite song ever...I'venever had a song speak to me like that one does.
I saw her in concert a couple years ago and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen!! I have a story with that one too, lol. I swear not every concert I go too has a story, but she was playing this really awesome venue, and I pushed my way up to the front. like I was literally leaning against the stage all night and I could touch the speakers. it was amazing.

I was singing all the songs all night cuz I've listened to all her albums way too much and memorized every line. she was doing a cover of Cyndie Lopper's "true colours," cuz she said that was one of her favourite songs ever and she liked all different kinds of music. somewhere in the middle of the song she came over to me and was like "do you sing? you've been mothing the words all night." I was actually singing them, but she probably couldn't hear me from where she was lol.

of course my answer was a big excited "yes!!!" and she was like "come here." so I climbed up onto the stage and she gave me a mic. I sang the chorus of the song "I see your true colours shining through, I see your true colours, India, and that's why I love you..." it was the perfect song to let one of my favourite people know how much she inspires me. when I finished she hugged me and I thanked her for making my dream come true. the audience screamed. I got down and tried to wrap my mind around what had just happened for the rest of the night.

when we left, people kept stopping me to tell me how good I was lol. i couldn't believe it. I was there to see one of my favourite artists and people were talking about me, lol. and then I went to choir practice a couple days later and my instructor was like "so! Jess! I heard you sang with India.Arie?" I was like how did you know? you weren't even there lol! but word got around haha.

it was one of the single greatest moments of my life!! she's coming back here for the Testimony Vol.2 tour, and you better believe I'm going!!! I doubt I'll have another experience like that, but I can't wait to see her again!!!!!
