| The Official "This vs. That" R&B Game Thread | ||||
junebug18 2008-07-23 07:00:36 Total Posts: 540 | It's basically a game where you compare 2 songs (or albums or artists) and then the next poster answers which they like for the previous post, and posts another question of their own and so on. Try to post songs that a majority of the general R&B fans should or might know. Even though I know a lot of songs myself, others may not know certain album cuts or artists etc. Are you ready? Here we go. So I'm going put "a song vs. another song", the next poster picks the one they like better from my post, and ask a new one and so on. Shai - If I Ever Fall In Love vs. Silk - Freak Me
Sonofsoul 2008-07-23 07:03:04 Total Posts: 212 | So if I answer, do I have to put the "winning" song against another song, or do I just pick two completely different things?
R&B Guru 2008-07-23 08:01:18 Total Posts: 2527 | Soul, you should remember this game :). It's the A or B game we used to play on the old forum lol. I'm going to have to go with Shai - If I Ever Fall In Love. This track threw those guys out there and really launched their careers. Not to mention, the acapella version is so great. Lovin every second of that track. Next up: R Kelly vs Aaron Hall
Sonofsoul 2008-07-23 08:12:37 Total Posts: 212 | Hate R Kelly, so by default the winner has to be Aaron Hall (BTW- R. Kelly has overtaken Sir Knight AGAIN, and I'm not happy) Also, I'm going to have to say that Guru got the last one right with Shai. Now Batting: Which is the better Boyz II Men cover album, Throwback or Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA?
junebug18 2008-07-23 09:41:23 Total Posts: 540 | "Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA" was better IMO. Tony! Toni! Toné! vs. Dru Hill
Sonofsoul 2008-07-23 09:43:15 Total Posts: 212 | I agree 10000% junebug..Motown is much better. I'll let someone else answer your question though and give the next debate...

junebug18 2008-07-23 09:57:49 Total Posts: 540 | Al B Sure. (even though he was easily a terrible singer , his songs were better and more enjoyable than Christopher's and get more replay from me) Case Missing - You vs. Donell Jones - Where I Wanna Be

junebug18 2008-07-23 10:23:52 Total Posts: 540 | "Miss Thang" easily. I wore that album out back in the day. Better "Neo-soul" debut album? D'Angelo - "Brown Sugar" vs. Maxwell - "Urban Hang Suite"
R&B Guru 2008-07-23 10:36:57 Total Posts: 2527 | Both were great albums but I'm gonna have to go with Maxwell's. He just completely shocked me when I first listened to him with such a high voice, but I've since grown to really like his stuff. Til The Cops Come Knockin was a great jam! Babyface the Singer vs Babyface the Writer
R&B Guru 2008-07-23 10:37:49 Total Posts: 2527 | Oh, and lets hear more to your answer than just the choice :). I wanna know WHY you chose. Anywhere from as simple as Junebugs "I really liked that album" to a full report! But let's see something :) (You don't have to, it just helps explain your answer more)
iluv90srnb 2008-07-23 10:47:58 Total Posts: 36 | Babyface the Writer - its hard to pick up a R&B cd from the 90's and not find Face at work. He wrote hits for Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, Tevin Campbell, Madonna, Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston, Pebbles, Toni Braxton, Johnny Gill, etc and the list goes on and on.
