niktime 2009-02-08 00:22:58 Total Posts: 43 | Aaliyah- I can see her being the hottest chick in the game longside Beyonce Kenny Green- great songwriter, I was big fan of Intro, I even like them better then the 2 most overrate groups of the 90's Boyz II Men and Jodeci. Damian dame- Beacuse i met Damian who was cool as hell and happen to have a baby with my Friend at the time , but him and Deah Dame never go there chance to shine Because of them snake at LaFace.

It depends what we constitute as 90s but I'll go with artists who were pretty active in the period. #1 - Gerald LeVert - I haven't actually liked a lot of his newer material but this man could croon and he deserved so much more mainstream fame than he received. #2 - Phyllis Hyman - She's a lot more than just the 90s but she put out some big albums in the 90s. She could sing like no other and life through her far too much stress at the same time. I'd love to see her back and active. #3 - Left Eye - TLC >> Aaliyah in my eyes, and Left Eye's passing destroyed the group. I would love to bring back all of the artists from the 90s (and can't decide if Luther counts or not...), but these three would probably be my first three Jesus actions.

lpc26 2009-02-08 11:30:21 Total Posts: 732 | First off I had no idea Damian Dame passed. How did he pass? I remember hearing him on that one song from the Boomerang Soundtrack. Here's the 3 I would bring back: 1. Aaliyah of course, it's true she was such a great entertainer I think she would have been a big star if she was alive today. 2. Most definetley Left Eye. 3. Possibly......Tony Thompson I hate that he had passed so soon he had such a great voice.
R&B Guru 2009-02-08 11:34:23 Total Posts: 2527 | Yea Havok, between him and Luther passing, the world isn't the same. I feel like the song to baby output in modern music just can't touch what those two men did! In case any of ya'll have missed it, here's a tribute on YouTube I made about the artists we're talking about here. and LPC, you should read the feature here on Damian Dame (and other R&B legends). The two members died exactly two years apart. It's almost poetic.

R&B Guru 2009-02-08 14:36:51 Total Posts: 2527 | O my god Johnny. I forgot Ephraim. AHHHH. I pimp him out so much, I feel embarassed I forgot him. I went Left Eye because even though she was my least favorite part of TLC, the group seemed to die when she left. Not to mention she had a strong production influence. But yea I'm stuck between Dino and Ephraim in replacing her :)

R&B Guru 2009-02-09 05:53:10 Total Posts: 2527 | Niktime, you can see in either the video above or on this page: http://www.rnbhaven.com/90s-music/feature/Late-Musicians/2 About Damian's death. He died of colon cancer two years after Deah Dame died and one day after his solo album released. I think my list has moved to be the same as Johnny's. Though I'm back and forth on Phyllis. I don't know who I'd take off for her though.

That Into debut album from 1993 is a masterpiece and his work with others such as Mary J. is also crazy. Aaliyah - None of these wack ass b1tches like Ciara wouldn't be around. A real artist, with real beauty and can actually. She was actually get hotter and hotter musically and physically. Dino (From H-Town) - I mean he died right when they were about to have a big reunion. SMH.....What a tragedy.
