I thought these artists wasn't going to make it big: 1. Usher- when his first CD came out back in 1994 it took a long while for his 2nd CD to come out (1997-98) so I thought he was going to be a "1 hit wonder". 2. Destiny's Child- I figured they would just record 1 album only and then vanish like the rest of the girl groups from the 90's did except for TLC, xscape, and SWV. 3. Donell Jones- I didn't expect him to get as far as he did so far he recorded up to 4 CDs and still recording. 4. Jon B.- I expected him to make up to 2 or 3 and call it quits.

But come on, nobody even knew they weren't boyz ii men... and what's more, it was a cover of a country song! Sure they've never done as well since, but they've put out 4 or 5 albums and are still running. K-Ci & JoJo, another similar act. All My Life was a super jam and they never REALLY got to the same heights. But still, every album had some random single that did well (Tell Me It's Real, Crazy) which kept everyone talking about them. So honestly, I thought they'd disappear but they got 4 albums out of em.

R&B Guru 2009-01-17 16:35:58 Total Posts: 2527 | Yea K-ci & JoJo were coming back but JoJo collapsed on stage in one of their promotional performances so i think it slowed em down a lot. And yea, All 4 One had a good number of albums, though they're later stuff was more adult contemporary than r&b. And i'll co-sign ginuwine

I was (still am) a fan of theirs, I really expected them to stop at "We got it". I happy they kept on going. To those that said Ginuwine I figured he would stick around, but what is funny is that I didn't think Aaliyah would make it to her 2nd album. All i can say it's a good think Timbaland and Missy came into the picture.
JohnnyAwesome24 2009-01-18 00:28:09 Total Posts: 1928 | On a quick note on the All4 One and Boyz II Men thing, I don't see why people got them confused. Did people really think Delius sounded like Wanya? Are they retarded?
lpc26 2009-01-18 08:19:19 Total Posts: 732 | When I think about I don't think All 4 One sound anything like Boyz II Men. All 4 One sound is a little different, Boyz II Men they just have that The Temptations type sound. It's hard to explain.

R&B Guru 2009-01-18 09:31:09 Total Posts: 2527 | Mwahaha, I agree but people just make these weird mistakes. I can pick Boyz II Men out anywhere, but All 4 One and Shai get mixed up as the men of Boyz II Men a lot. I think people just say "group of R&B guys? must be Boyz II Men!"
JohnnyAwesome24 2009-01-18 10:11:01 Total Posts: 1928 | Honestly I don't think wither of them sounds even remotely like B II M. I search for songs and what have you and you will see "I Swear" Sung by Boyz II Men, jeebus. It is simply ridiculous.
lpc26 2009-01-18 19:02:27 Total Posts: 732 | Now I will admit I used to get Az Yet mixed with Boyz II Men sometimes. There sound is almost the same. Then I can compare 112 to Boyz II Men, 112 sound just like Boyz II Men on some songs.
R&B Guru 2009-01-18 20:46:37 Total Posts: 2527 | Well I guess I could give you Az Yet since Marc Nelson was in Boyz II Men before they started so he musta stole some of their moves. Still, I just think vocally, Boyz II Men's guys each has such a distinct sound. You could pick Shawn and Wanya out from a prison line. All the same, like Johnny said, songs get mislabeled all the time though. Shai "If I Ever Fall In Love" is another often mislabeled track as boyz ii men.
