I have a few of my favorite one hit wonders in mind:

Keith Washington - Kissing You
Mark Morrison - Return Of The Mack
Something for the People - My Love Is The Shhh!
Portrait - Here We Go Again
Groove Theory - Tell Me
UNV - Something's Goin' On

(^^that's all I can think of at the moment...)

I'm probably gonna go with Keith's, until someone can think of something better. As much as I like his music, YES, Keith IS considered a one hit wonder. This is his only song that entered the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 & top 10 on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B charts. His first album is a masterpiece, but all the singles he released did okay on the charts, with only Kissing You being an actual hit.

Drop some answers...

I can't stand Mark Morrison's voice :).

I'll try and think of more for the list later.

@ R&B Gure: LOL. I can't stand it either, but I don't mind it cause the song was catchy, listenable and a party starter...if the song wasn't then I wouldn't be able to stand his voice at all, especially on a ballad.

@Havok214: Yup... His first album is front to back classic after classic after classic. Every song is a phenomenal vocal performance backed by great production and great songwriting (especially the title track "Make Time For Love"...my favorite).

Dude done took away Freddie Jackson's shine by the end of 1991. LOL.

I feel like you can put Tony Rich - Nobody Knows as a one hit wonder, even though he kept kicking butt after that with great albums. It's really his only strong charting track, though Like A Woman didn't do TERRIBLE I guess.

I don't know if you can count Milestone/BMU since I feel like they were made for the purpose of just one song, but the others are great choices. Sukiyaki's a tight jam.

Charlene Smith - Feel the Good times. You can even hear the full song on youtube.com. That was back in 1995. Enjoy...

Tony Terry- With You (He had the best haircut ever, I am PISSED he wasn't a star.

The Tony Rich Project- Nobody Knows (He never had any other major chart success)

Keith Washington- Kissing You ( Weren't "Are You Still In Love With Me" and "No One" hits as well?)

I think All 4 one falls under these, although technically they had two hits.

@ Dork: Milestone and BMU weren't really established artists, they were collaborative efforts like "we are the world".

@Johnny: Keith's only big hit was Kissing You. Stay In Corner, Are You Sill In Love With Me, & Make Time For Love did okay on charts and had mild success. They weren't flops, but they weren't big hits either.

@Moofu: LOL. I hated those guys....but they had more than one so they don't really count.

I feel ya, although as I mentioned in another thread somewhere, that Milestone made several other tracks (which I keep forgetting to send them to you Guru =X), but they weren't hits like that song.

Oh, I also liked 3T - Anything.. too bad their more popular overseas than the US though.
