Amerie is truely a song bird,but in todays music climate she refuse to be herself. It seems she is contantly reach for a repeat of her break song "Why Don't we fall in love". But if you remember what made that song a hit is the fact that it was simple. Simple love song sells. It's not producers, promotion, radio, or gimmicks.
Yea I just saw the video for "Why don't we fall in love", and I gotta say that although I like some of her newer songs, that song just screamed 90's :) I think she's about 30 now so in my opinion, if she hasn't tried to make a change for the better, it's probably not going to happen any time soon... like her voice though...
Amerie is just so darn random right now. She hasn't figured out her own style. I have both of her CD's and they were both just okay... However, I am a fan because of Why Don't We Fall In Love and Talkin to Me (Both on first CD).I liked her a lot more becaue of her single on the second CD, One Thing was HOT HOT HOT. The drums on that was crazy!
If you noticed she put "Why Don't we fall in love" on both of her albums. That let's you now she is reaching. And you liked the drums on that track try Mary J. Blige " The love I never had" on her album Mary.
I love her as well but her third album be her last if don't pull all the pieces together on this next album. I would say that she needs to use one producer or team or change.
That is a good question why isn't Amerie big time artist. I think she can sing and I have her first CD and the whole CD has that 90's vibe. I think you guys are right when you say she hasn't found her "sense of style" yet. It's like one mintes she trying to recover the 90's then one minutes she's trying to be Beyonce like.
