Mariah Carey is overrated. There I said it geez it felt good. I just can't take her work seriously since she made glitter, and it also takes away from previous work for me.
I was inspired by the great artist bad album debate about her. Plus I just have a problem with hot women marrying older dudes, it just bugs me.
Actually instead of singling her out I will just say that female R&B, for the most part with a few exceptions, is god awful and should just cease to exist.
Mwahahaha Johnny, you can stay as long as you like on this site. You've been around since the beginning and I love hearing your rants.
I agree and think most of female R&B leaves a lot to be desired when compared to their male counterparts. For every great female singer, there are 5-10 men who can take their place.
Lol thanks guru I may have to take you up on that offer, much to some peoples chagrin I am sure.
Agreed about the female singers, they all kind of sound the same to me after a while. It really comes down to whether I would do them or not anymore as the singing is just worthless to me. Needless to say I despise Jill Scott and Angie Stone.
I was reading over some of my old posts and I realized that I hate a lot of things lol.
lol I told you dude! You need to say more about how much you like stuff :).
But yea, I think the problem with the female market is that the marketers are seeking a derivative sound and just using bodies as a replacement for marketing.
Hey guys wassup with the hate people i supposed that we are RnB lovers so apart from crappy production and sometimes some cheezy lines or bad lyrics selection, i think that all the 90's RnB artists are superior to any other genre artists and for proof you have to hear live performances so on one hand you will be lifted by celestial performances such as Boyz II Men's or on the other hand feeling that someone's knocking you with a sledge hammer on the head if hearing any pop so called artist performing live, so please let us apperciate what we have and hope that if they slip every now and then they'll get back on the right track.
Lol Johnny, that was rotten. Sometimes you can be a total jerk :).
Gloomy, the hate is mostly in good humor and is a way to poke fun at our own opinions about different artists. While most of the artists of yesteryear put everyone to shame today, it's still fun to see how different people view the different artists.
Thanks again Guru, I knew that Johnny meant no harm by his "no" but the fact is that although i may agree with you, Johnny and a lot of the others about some of the opinions stated here but I always look at the bright side and although in the past i used to think that even if Boyz II Men sang Giberish or even burped they would sound lovely but as the time passed by and they produced some ordinary songs i had my hating momento too but nevertheless i can never imagine any RnB lover saying they are garbage thanks to the times of joy they gave us through some of their marvelous songs as well as other good artists being labeled as overrated or garbage or whatever, i know that opinions vary but there is still common sense that should always prevail.
Hah yea, I think you're right. The problem is we all suffer from a case of Hyperbole addiction. Saying we dislike an artist or an album is nowhere near as entertaining as saying "Boyz II Men is garbage" or "Their new stuff sucks." So I guess it's just important to take everything with a grain of salt and understand that it's said in the context of a great appreciation for what's come before.
Sorry for the dounle but my god why do people like Aaliyah? She sucked and the fact that she passed tragically doesn't change that. I won't give sympathy kudos, and it seems like a lot of people think of her as a legend. Puh lease.
Yea, that one's baffled me too. I like a few songs by Aaliyah (4 PAge Letter and The One I Gave My Heart To), but people seem to treat her like her shit don't stink.
And Johnny, just be careful with the comments to newbs. We want them to feel comfortable before you poke fun at them lol.
Lol no one laughs anymore I guess. I held back hard on one person who made me just laugh out loud it was crazy how much their taste is from any sane person.
