If you are looking for a throw back 90's artist to listen to this up and coming weekend, here's an artist who I feel is totally underrated. Yes Mr. Whinner himself Keith Sweat. Make fun all you want, but this man introduced me to girls, ladies, women, and my wife. With (6)albums in the span of 87'-98' he sold 12million records. That's amazing for R&B. Grab thoughs hits like "I want her", "Something Just ain't right", "Make it Last Forever" which was my prom theme song and the girl that I took to prom I ended up marrying thanks to Keith Sweat. So if you are looking for a 90's throw back artist or a good 90's love song for this weekend grab some Keith Sweat and tell me what you think. Any Keith Sweat fans out there, whats your favorite song?

And yes, Keith is one of my favs, hes hella underrated and doesnt get the props he deserves.

Make It Last Forever (album) = CLASSIC! One of the greatest R&B albums from the New Jack Swing era to present.

He has classics, hits, album sales, chart toppers...you name it....but vocally he was barely average...but dont let that and the "begging/whining" that people say about him get in the way.

My favorite Keith Sweat song by far (and when I mean far...I mean FAAAAAR) is "How Deep Is You Love" ....the beat, the lyrics, the singing, and even the part when he showcases his falsetto at the end....all CLASSIC. 10/10, A++ whatever you wanna call it.

Other favs are:

In The Rain (remake)
Get Up On It
I'll Give all my love 2 u
Happy Days (Silk's song, but he still singing in it and he wrote it. LOL)
Right & A Wrong Way
Nobody
Just A Touch Of Love
I Want Her
Chocolate Girl

way too many to name...

Keith Sweat's another one of those artists I've never been able to get into. I'll have to listen more. All I've really known are his mega hits "Twisted" and "Nobody" which were good but just seemed so repetitive. I'll have to listen and get back with my thoughts :).

Yeah, props for setting up this forum up. Keep up the hard work.

R&BGuru, if you gonna start with a Keith Sweat album, the best place to start is with his first 'Make It Last Forever'.

I must say, I know nothing about Keith Sweat. I've heard of him and if you play his most popular song I'll proabably have heard it before. My taste is not terribly ecclectic, but you all here have opened me up alot.

Most notably this site has opened me up to Tony Rich, Eric Benet, Mint Condition and Kevon Edmonds. Now I'm not one to run out and start buying albums (I want to, but I'm too cheap haha!), but I acknowledge they are worth a listen or two or three

Ah soul, you've got to have heard Twisted. I've never listened to Keith Sweat but that song was all over the place.

"Girl you got me twisted over you." "You know... you want, my loving baby"

Lol, just listen for like 30 seconds and you'll be like ah... THIS song.

Though from what I've heard, I'd never put him in the category with the artists you listed (though I haven't listened like these guys recommended so we'll have to wait and see).
