Boyz II Men adding/making a replacement for Mike McMary?

My opinion, which doesn't mean much of course, I wish he would just rejoin the group again and let everything be happily ever after.

But, since he apparently isn't coming back, I think a very strong bass replacement would be awesome and something they should possibly consider.

I've seen them live several times with and without Mike. And there's a HUGE difference which I am sure everyone knows. It's just not the same with Nate doing some if not all of the bass parts.

So what do you all think? If they ever decided to do this, would you be opposed to it or all for it? And would your opinion on them change because it is no longer the original group?

Obviously, they've done well the past 7 years without him, so doubt they change now.

yea, its pretty much Mike or no one else. I think they have gone too far down the road to bring in another Bass singer.

Nathan can do Bass but when he does it, it takes out his baritone harmony parts. Personally, i dont like how he keeps changing it up...he should stick to what he does and THEY ALL SHOULD THROW THE BS ASIDE AND GET BACK MIKE!!!!!!!!!!

guaranteed if they did, we'll see em back on the radio n stuff even if they are getting older.

There were talks of Mike getting back with them late last yr/early 2010, but it fell through. They wanted to get him back for the 20th anniversary stuff. Yes, Mike's back is no good, but what it really comes down to (and I'm sure this was the case 7 yrs ago also)is the $$. Mike wanted a bigger share than Nate, Shawn and Wan wanted to give him given that he had been gone for so long.

That being said, I don't think I'd be offended if someone else joined them. However, the difference would only be in their live performances since they can do multiple tracks on any recording. And, I don't care so much about the live stuff...As long as the sound was pretty similar (which it probably wont be) I think I'd be ok

I remember when Mike first left, all the forums were saying Brian McKnight should join the group since he and the Boyz seemed to work so closely together. Man imagine that group haha.

Still, I think Soul hit it right on. It likely wouldn't change the recorded work that much (well except this bass guy might sound diff than Nate I suppose but as a whole, wouldn't make much difference), but it would change live performances.

I think it might be weird to add someone, could tarnish the group too much. I kind of dislike when R&B groups change members and still keep the name so I'd prefer them to keep other folks out.

Plus, at least without Mike there's no minute long speech during every song I gotta fast forward through :)

Honestly to me, it wouldn't make a difference to their careers or their image. Yes, they'd make small headline news to people who care (us) due to their popularity. But at this point, I don't even think the group sees themselves as relevant enough here at the end of this decade to even make that decision.I see a solo project in the scopes for Wanya. He's already recorded one (just unreleased). So yeah, seeing Mike rejoin them would be nice ~or even if they went with some new guy...then....ok......

I am very opposed to adding someone else. They should leave it as is. I just saw them live and they were great. There is no need to fix something that is not broken.
