Another week, another interview. This week, we launch our work with the R&B group Riff. The guys came onto the scene in the movie Lean on Me and hit the ground running after that.
The interview should be an entertaining listen as four of the group's five members joined in the discussion, causing some entertaining banter.
Some interesting segments from the interview: I jokingly asked if the guys had considered a movie career after doing Lean on Me and they actually had the opportunity to try out for the movie Toy Soldiers but backed out.
They talk about their shot down attempts at doing a third album back in the day and a track called "When You Walk Through the Storm," which sounds like fire. If anyone can get a hold of that, let me know!
So yea, check it out and of course, the song of the week is "My Heart is Failing Me," in recognition of their feature.
It's amazing when you think they were in the game before Jodeci, before Boyz II Men. They're really talented guys that seem to have got lost in the shuffle more than you'd expect.
I"m a bit confused by the Riff interview. So they did 3 albums? "Riff", "To Whom It May Concern" and another shelved album? They were making it seem as if the 3rd album was "To Whom It May Concern". Can you clear that up for me Guru.
I actually asked them about that myself and the answer was a bit confusing so I deleted a bit of the section.
From what I understand, they had three releases... Riff, To Whom It May concern and a christmas album that were ACTUALLY released. However, if I understood right, they were working on an EP when they were dropped, which was the third album they often referred to.
