This week saw a lot of changes on the site. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, the front page has been revamped to highlight more of the great content at R&B Haven. I wanted to make more information more readily available, so please make use of it as a hub for your R&B fix.

Content-wise, this week has seen a lot of great contributions as well. Ilikeit, proving he's an R&B machine, wrote up two great articles I recommend everyone check out! They're short and easy to digest and can be found on the main page. The first is titled "What happened to the R&B band?" and the second is "Recipe for a Great Love Song." Also, if you have any recommendations on where I can fit these on the site besides the front page, please let me know! I'm hoping he'll make these a weekly contribution. If anyone else wants to write one, message me and we'll get you writing some R&B articles.

The other big addition for the week is the R&B forums! We've got a forum now to discuss music and another to discuss the site, so please join and participate. It's a great way to share your own feelings about music and to get recommendations from other fans of the genre. Plus, I like coming on to see what everyone's up to. So join :).

As a last bit of news, I expect the interview with Az Yet to go down sometime this week. I'm hoping to have a live feed on the main page of the site, so come back throughout the week to get more information. And anyone on the West Coast, the group is having a concert tomorrow (July 21) in Los Angeles with Babyface and Jon B, so be sure to look it up! I'm sure it'll be a great time and you can give me a scoop on how the group is sounding.

And of course, to send you off, the song of the week. This week features H-Town's Day That I Die. The song on its own is solid material and is from H-Town's reunion effort in 2004 showing another R&B group that came back with some great music. However, what makes the song even more powerful is the fact that it was done weeks before Dino died. Haunting to hear him singing about the day he dies.

That's a rap for the week. Have a good one R&B fans and of course, join the forums!

One more thing...newest post should be on top IMO.

I had considered that but opted out since I've never really seen a forum that does it :). The benefit of this structure is that people typically read top to bottom so that new people to the discussion can follow it easily. I also limited the posts per page to 15 so they should never get too long, thereby making it easy to quickly jump to the latest post. I could make it 10 though if you think it'd be easier.

I guess, It'll be much better if you add a Music Player or Something if possible, bcuz not all of the songs do have a video for us to watch.......

Yea, I've thought about that but haven't figured out a good way to do it yet. I might see if there's a way I can tap into one of these big radio sites and embed there's onto the site with a 90s R&B filter. I'll let you know if I find anything out about it.

That's tiiight! The radio I used to listen to online is Sunday Night Slow Jams w/ R-Dub (slowjams.com) usually play 24/7 and for FREE, and allows embedding of their players, it says for myspace. But who knows right! :)

Glad to have you on here! I saw your radio show and it seemed the perfect fit. Feel free to post any requests for tracks on the music forums and I'm sure the guys would love to help.

And Soul, I haven't made a page where all the trivia facts are available. You just gotta keep coming back and hope you'll get a new one hahaha.

I haven't been to the site in about a month due to being busy and being on vacation. I came back and I am looking at a completely redecorated site. I am very pleased with the progess that has been made!

Guru, I am interested in your thoughts on Raheem Devaughn. Input would be appreciated.

Hey jerry,
Don't worry, everything's going to come back again this week. We've got two articles that have been written in the past two weeks and I've been building up another top ten list. My computer went down and I've been outrageously busy (to the point where I haven't slept in the same bed for more than 3 nights in the past two weeks), but this weekend will mark the end of it.
Glad you're back Johnny! I'd wondered when you would. I'm hoping that the redesign will only be the start of things and that we'll have a lot more coming through the pipelines. My goal is to get it where we have artist interviews almost every other week. What about RAheem Devaughn are you interested? We actually had a talk about him in the music lounge.
