So we've done a new update to the site, but it's mostly in order to get everyone geared up for the holiday season. We've added two new lists to the site, with one tackling the best traditional R&B Christmas songs, and another tackling the best unique R&B Christmas songs. By unique, I mean to say tracks that haven't been done a 1,000 times by other artists.

To continue this spirit, the song of the week is Luther Vandross's Every Year, Every Christmas. The track is standard Luther fair in that it's worth a listen. The video is in black and white, adding a grainy classy feel to things, as Luther sings about waiting for a loved one. Still, this is one of many great Christmas tracks so I recommend everyone listen to the Christmas lists I made. Everyone's got their favorites and mine have to be the Christmas tracks done by Gerald LeVert and Xscape. The two shy away from traditional Christmas songs and instead, sing satiny ballads about love around the holidays.

Lastly, this update serves as a promise that the updates are going to start coming a lot faster now. I'm prepping polls so that we should now have a regular poll update every two weeks instead of every blue moon like we have now. I'm hoping to eventually tie give aways to the polls so keep tuning in for that one. Keep me updated with what you want to see on the site and I'll work towards bringing that next. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and keep checking back!

In the meantime... what are your favorite R&B Christmas songs?

Dear Guru,
we missed your posts & hoping to have the eagerly awaited updates very soon especially the artists to be added, and as for your question there are so many but i'll have to go with Boyz II Men's " Silent Night " and although i once watched a Christmas show by the Wynans where they hosted Silk who performed a song that i can't reacll but i still wish to this day to hear it again it was a tremendous performance if only i can remember the title to purchase it.

I posted a Silk track in one of the two christmas lists I made on the site. IS that the one you are referring to? The group did some great acapellas on their christmas cd.

My favorite R&B Christmas song is "Sleigh Ride" by Alexander O'Neal. Great funky version of that tune.
