| Okay... I'll say this. For one, I have NOT heard the new Kellz album. I will be giving it a listen soon. But if there seem to be a ton of uptempo songs, it's PROBABLY because Kellz may be a little shy about giving us more 12 Play - especially since the whole 'Pee on young girls allegedly' thing. *kanyeshrug* Personally, I'm fond of a fair few uptempo cuts from Kellz, but his slow jams are his legacy and he'd be better off defending it. (Esp since young, upstarts like Trey Songz (insert major massive eyeroll) are claiming they 'invented sex'.) | |

R&B Guru SaysHahaha dangggg you rocked it here. Very well done :-) Thanks! I had to think about it HARD though. LOLOL It's easy to just drop folk in a group mentally, but you know, I kinda took it seriously. LOLOL | |

| Even though it looks like he's knocking on death's door... I just had a discussion with someone about this vid. You know, damn the fact that Devante looks a hot azz mess and the fact that they auto tuned K-Ci (which I hope was not out of necessity...) the song sounds fairly decent. Annnnd... you know, I'm not in the habit of bitching about someone I like making a comeback album and me not purchasing. Now, granted, I'm not all that fussed about an H-Town comeback (esp. sans Dino (rip)) but I'd prolly pick up the album just to see where they're going with it. If Jodeci decides to actually DO an album instead of just this feature set on this song, I'd be interested in what they come up with and purchase immediately. | |
| 2009-10-23 12:07:02 | With two flop singles under her belt, Mariah goes to single #3 |
| Okay. Imma be naysayer. I'm hearing that no one sounds like Mariah. Okay. But Mariah doesn't sound like Mariah EITHER. This puppet hand, whisper isht she does now is not NOT HOT. Say what you want, but I remember when Mariah could BLOW. Vision of Love, I Don't Wanna Cry, Love Takes Time, My All, Always Be My Baby, Hero BLOW. Now, I'm not saying that she still hasn't made songs that were good. Commercially OR Vocally. But I'm saying that this Touch My Body, I Stay In Love isht is not up to the standard that I (me, myself) hold Mariah to. Even We Belong Together, while good and giving more range than we'd become accustomed to, is still not Mariah, Mariah. As far as her weight is concerned, meh. Despite all her efforts to remain 'Forever 21' she's kickin' 40. The female body can be hard to tame depending on genetics and how you take care of yourself. Mariah is KNOWN to like to drank and party and bullisht pretty often and alcohol can wreak havoc on the Diva that's trying to stay model thin. I like Mariah curvy. Her dressing like she's 18 and hot in the pants - not so much. (But you know, I might be a prude. LOLOL) | |
| 2009-10-23 11:37:18 | The ultimate R&B supergroup from the 90s |
| Okay... I took some time to think about this. I'm going to build my supergroup based on The O'Jays Model. (Basically because it's worked for what... 50 plus years now? LOL) IMO, every group needs a 'Walter' and an 'Eddie'. Your 'Walter' is your crooner. Smooth on the verses, leading you gently into deeper waters - where your 'Eddie' is. Your 'Eddie' is going to take you to the bridge! LOL Ad lib you and bring the song alive with strong, crisp, bold vocals. So, my SuperGroup composed of 90's R&B folks are: DeVante - quick and dirty on the production, writing and arranging front. You need that for your group. Mark Middleton (Blackstreet - 2nd Incarnation) - is my 'Eddie'. Typical DeVante production would blend well with his voice and you know, 'Don't Leave' speaks for itself. LOL Jesse Powell - is my 'Walter'. While Jesse can and does have some Eddie-esque moments, Jesse is IMO, first and foremost a crooner. Lastly, I'm taking Kenny Terry (Az Yet) as my baritone to hold down Jesse and Mark AND as an added bonus, he's a baritone that can hold his own on a verse. (Mike McCary, I love you, buuuut... holding down a whole verse is NOT your forte.) So: DeVante, Mark, Jesse, Kenny. *nods head* | |
