I'm baaaackkkk lol. Great topic Johnny...I'm compelled to respond.

Admittedly, my taste is not ecclectic at all, so this is very much my personal rushmore and not really an objective truth.

90s - Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight, Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill

2000s - Brian McKnight, Eric Benet, Alicia Keys, Boyz II Men (IMO, Nathan, Michael, Shawn, Wanya was THAT good that they make the list for 2000s)

I agree with you 99% Analyst. Wanya is ridiculously talented and his voice certainly merits a shot at going solo. However, I've heard some of his solo stuff (someone post a video of one of his songs if you can find it) and it's 3 times more than terrible. It all comes down to songwriting and when they do a lot of their own writing, we get albums like The Remedy.

Haha...anyone else find it funny that the person with the OJ Simpson profile is the most violent among us? I'm just saying...

2011-03-11 06:04:12What do you guys think of Greatest Hits Albums?
For the most part, I'm with d0rk on this one. If I like an artist enough, I'm sure I own most/all of the songs on any greatest hits album. That being said, I DID purchase the 2-disc Boyz II Men Legacy album. There were actually quite a few songs I didn't have (e.g. Brokenhearted, I Will Get There) and the second disc was all remixes that were pretty "fun" for lack of a better term. This purchase was a long time ago, but since they haven't put out a good album since NMSW, it's worth picking up.

I don't think a greatest hits album from an artist I've never listened to. You can put together the 3 best songs from their albums and create a really good album, but that feels like cheating to me. It would sucker me into buying their albums and they could suck. Just my three cents...

2011-02-17 05:55:40so many great artists missing from this site!
Quite literally, I have heard of precisely 0% of those artists. Though, admittedly, I am far from the most ecclectic of the members here.

I am SURE the Guru would gladly oblige and add all these artists along with their bios, discographies, personal interests, shoe size, family trees and much more! Right, Guru?
