Dear Lpc26 the song Respect was first released by Otis Redding 2 years prior to its remake by Aretha in 1967 and for Umbrella you are right I heard it by a british group where they mixed up the numbers and after thorough checking it seems they made an awful remake of the original not the other way round.

Dear Guru I thought I'd hear from you by now what are your fav. covers man?

Mine are:

Az Yet - Hard for me to say I'm sorry
Mariah Carey - Without You
Beyonce - Wishing on a star
Rihanna - Umbrella
Whitney Houston - I'm every woman & I will always love you
Aretha Franklin - Respect
Lauryn Hill - No woman no cry
And definitely agree on the Boyz II Men's Yesterday remake.

But we should also object on the covers mutulating our beloved songs such as Britney's Prerogative(aaaaaaaaaaahhhh!)

Sorry guys I was extremely busy last week and now that I saw this post it is a great one so why stop it?
Anyway I'm gonna go for Chante Moore for consistancy as Shanice may have had potentials but was a one hit wonder and that was that.

2009-01-12 22:48:23Who has the most soul out of these singers?
Dear Guru your question is extremely easy to answer, just listen to both LIVE and then you'll know the BIG difference I covered my ears once when I was watching a live performance by Backstreet Boys, their voices were so horrible that I can do better in the shower lol, so with all the studio enhancements and gizmos even Kanye seems ok as a singer, and the R&B producers err.. excuse me for the term they know that in a community of around 80% white people teenage girls would prefer the white boy band phenom. as I assure you that if it was the other way round Boyz II Men would have stayed at the top of their game with producers crawling at their feet providing them with the best they can offer but alas it's all about money and what sells the most.

2009-01-12 16:26:29 What else are you passionate about?
Dear friends I sincerely convey my thanks for your compassion and I wish that none of you experience such calamities, my beloved country is lying on top of a dormant volcano fueled by sectarian hatred, and nobody can foresee its eruption, I stayed in it through all the wars but when the last period of political assassination began two years ago it became too hazardous and when one of these blasts took place one block from my office which rocked as if in an earthquake I realized that it was the time for me to leave, and that it's pointless to be killed or maimed for nothing and just for passing near a targeted politician, my cousin whose father was gruesomely killed in the war now lives in Detroit, as does a lot of friends and relatives live scattered in many different countries, due to these circumstances.
